They're pictures, too!

Consider the fonts you use carefully. They are just as important a graphic element as a picture. There are literally thousands of fonts available.

Note that some fonts are quite readable while others are stylish and interesting. If you plan to have your visitor read a large amount of text, go for a font that is simple and clear. Save the exciting fonts for headlines, logos and splashiness!






Note that HTML fonts are really limited to what is common on most computers. You can really only count on Times New Roman or Ariel. Unfortunately the user is in control of the font size! Try to keep that in mind as you design your page!

To have the other, more interesting fonts we discussed above appear on your website you have to create them as a graphic. This does increase download time so decide what's most important to your site.
